I lead and deliver research projects that explore care, work, wellbeing, and digital health. I design studies, guide methodology, oversee analysis, and translate findings into outputs that inform policy, practice, and system-level decision-making.
I manage research and evaluation projects from tender award through to final delivery. I turn funded proposals into clear workplans, coordinate stakeholders, manage ethics and reporting, and keep projects moving with accountability and momentum.
I embed the right data governance and ethical structures to support research activity so projects can proceed safely, responsibly and with trust. This includes

My PhD topic, Online Support Groups for Family Caregivers: Understanding the Psychosocial Mechanisms, opened the door for me to understand not just if peer support groups work, but why they work.

This study aimed to further the understanding about the types and characteristics of online support groups for family caregivers.

This study explored whether a sense of collective or group identity was established in an online group and what this meant to the group members. We concluded that group identity can be cultivated through considered, active and balanced moderation, creating a safe, welcoming and supportive space where family caregivers are able to have fun and seek information, advice and emotional support, which helps relieve loneliness and social isolation.

This study looks at the relationship between social support and engagement. Drawing together the findings, we present a new framework, the Journey of Engagement and Support in Online Support Groups for Family Caregivers. This maps the stages for engagement and support in an OSG.
This study explores the relationship between social identity, social support and perceived stress. We also considered the differences in characteristics between members and non-members of online support groups. We found no difference in levels of perceived stress for the cohorts (both high). We found that there was an indirect relationship between social identity and social support and stress.
